THE CRACKED POT

The Cracked Pot.

The was a time in winter when all the water freezes and the tiny particle falls and became ice. There was a little girl walking and wondering around the woods looking for her rabbit which she calls Jojo. Her white and spotless rabbit was a rare species of rabbit with a little smudge on its ear. Jojo had been abandoned by her parents since he was young. She had been Daisy’s (the little girl) companion since she was born. She walked with it since she was 3 years old. She even loved the rodent very much as if it was her soul and can never leave it behind. Jojo stays with her where ever she goes. For the last two weeks, Jojo grows a fond to live in the woods at the back of Mr. Thompson’s (Daisy’s father) house. The woods were not that deep and the Thompson’s family knows it from edge to edge. It had been their playground since they moved in. They knew it like its at the back of their heads.
Jojo loves to play hide and seek with Daisy. They always seemed to need one another and day by day, they play with one another as if they were built in one soul. Yesterday, Jojo played the same thing with Daisy and she found it. Even with the thick snow and Jojo can hide among the snow, she could manage to find it. She absolutely has a strong intuition of its whereabouts. Her father also did one time tested her. He blindfolded her little girl and put Jojo and an edge of the game compound in which she was foretold. Within a few guesses, she managed to spot Jojo because she knew, Jojo would only sat beside her feet. That was the story of yesterday. The chaos begins today as of when they were doing the same routine, playing hide and seek. As usual, Jojo, after the cage was opened, he jumped out of it enthusiastically just to play another hide and seek game with Daisy.
Even with the things happening all over again, each day, the same moments kept them feeling alive, breathing the morning breeze of snow. Daisy said to Jojo every time they would go for a hide and seek, “hey little fella, today is going to be just great. Muahh. I love you so much Jojo (while kissing its head and hugging it). A rabbit flips its ears as of the affection given by someone or something to it. It signifies that it loves her so much. Every time she hugged her, Jojo would close its eyes and just softens its bones and muscles to let its master hugs it. That day, she as usual would close her eyes and count to ten (10). The moment she started counting, Jojo will run into the bushes in the woods and disappear. Only this time, Daisy felt something different as if something is bad is going to happen to someone.
Later, she went into the woods and find her Jojo. She felt different and when she took her step while screaming, “Oh Joeeyyy, I’m comingggg” while facing her palms with one another and her thumbs on the tip of her lips and shouting for left to right. As she walked deeper into the snowy woods, she could feel that her heart beats kept pumping faster and faster and at the moment, she felt as if she was going to lose something that day but she has no clue of it. She took her steps deeper and deeper into the woods and took her eyes strolling into the clear sky of the woods. She had never, in her life until the moment felt unsafe to go into the woods. She took her eyes and screamed one more time until she saw a cracked pot. Her eyes took a closer look and it was covered in blood. She kneeled to the ground with the tiny snow particles on her headscarf, crying as if she had lost her way in life. The only thing that crossed her mind was Jojo died and someone smacked it with the pot until it got cracked and covered with blood spills.
She screamed and cried, “Jojooo……”, sobbing, “Why Jojo?...”. She kept crying and then something tickles her foot. Little did she knew that it was her little Joey. She was astounded and hugged it. But after a few moments, she looked at the pot and then thought as if there was something happening but not to her companion. She ran back to her house and a few steps to the doorstep, she heard a scream. She went through the front door quickly and got into her house. She saw her father, and her mother on his lap. Thompson had no other words but spilling his eyes with pools of tears and started saying,” Bethany, why you? Of all the human being, why you?”. Once again, Daisy fell on her knees seeing her mom and asked her father in tears, “Daddy (while crying), who did this?”. He said slowly, “a burglar went in and stabbed her in the chest. (sobbing) I only heard she said, “I love you so much dearest, take care of our little girl.” And then, gone, forever.

A nice and straightforward story. At first, I thought it can be used for children bedtime story because of the bonding between Jojo & Daisy. Plot twist at the climax and the ending quite sad. Thumbs up as I can feel the emotion in your writing. Keep it up!
